SOAP / Web Services
|
|
|
Web Services are an excellent technology for moving
blocks of data between applications in real-time. Using
the Remote Objects library we can build transfer processes
that can match common open standards or use a proprietary
method for faster processing.
NIS used Web Services on the RealDocs application
for collecting usage data from the remote clients. SOAP
messages processed over the internet in fractions of
a second.

PDF Creation and Manipulation
|
|
|
Adobe PDF documents are an excellent way to prepare
reports, invoices, statements and other documents that
need to be delivered electronically. PDF files are also
a great format for archiving reports.
For each of the reporting libraries we use we also
have modules that create PDF documents as a standard
print option. Any report, form or document that can
be printed, can also be viewed or saved as a PDF file.
Combined with an email feature we can build you software
that creates PDF invoices, statements, or reports and
emails them automatically.
Just think of the time savings!!

Web Server Applications
|
|
|
Many companies upgrading their web sites from pure
"brochure-ware" to fully functional portals
for their customers and suppliers.
To meet this need we have components to build complete
web applications using Java (on Linux or Windows) or
Delphi (on Windows). No matter how simple or complex
your need our web components can make it happen.

Dialogic Telephony
|
|
|
Dialogic is the leading manufacturer of voice
processing boards for computers. NIS has created a interface
tothe Dialogic drivers for the Delphi compiler. This
software allows us to create telephony applications
in Delphi. Using this library we have created interactive
voice response (IVR) applications and the Digital Dictation
product sold by one of our partners, Promontory Services
Corp. If you have a need for a telephony application
with complex processing, our Delphi Dialogic library
may be just the technology you need.
In case you are new to the term telephony, it refers
to applications with a voice or fax interface. These
are systems that provide an automated response to a
telephone call. While they can simply play back recorded
messages, they can also access a database for information
retrieval and generate a voice response based on the
information gathered. Using Delphi NIS can create telephony
applications that operate very fast for efficient response
times even with many simultaneous callers.

Scantron Forms
|
|
|
Scantron forms are those "fill in the
bubble" forms commonly used by schools for multiple-choice
exams. This technology is very useful for entering large
amounts of data from a small set of answers. The number
of uses is quite varied. An order entry system can use
the forms with SKU numbers printed in a column and a
bubble for select the item. Surveys are also easily
processed with Scantron forms.
The form scanner can read thousands of forms per
hour and dumps the data into a data file on the computer
for processing. When you need to reliably enter a large
amount of data that can be collected on Scantron forms,
this is the most efficient technology for the task.
For more varied types of input data the Teleform system
can read everything from bubbles to handwriting with
forms scanned or faxed into a computer.

OLE/COM application links
|
|
|
Windows applications can work together thanks to
OLE and COM technology provided by most applications.
These links allow us to make use of common applications,
such as Acrobat, Word, and Excel, to perform many tasks.
This saves significant development time versus the option
of developing these functions natively.

TurboPower Software Libraries
|
|
|
TurboPower was one of the leading publishers
of component libraries for Delphi. NIS has used TurboPower
libraries in their developments for over 15 years with
great success. Now that their libraries are all open-sourced
you can use this technology with no licensing costs.
We find that our development times are significantly
reduced using their libraries. They cover lots of common
functions used in many of our applications that would
normally require considerable effort to create from
scratch..
Their SysTools and Orpheus libraries provide many
of the user interface and storage components tht
we use. Asynch Profesional provides components for building
communication capabilities using serial ports and modems.

RAVE and Report Builder
|
|
|
Most of our applications are designed for business
management tasks. Reports are an integral portion of
the application. Using the RAVE or ReportBuilder libraries
we can quickly design reports into your applications
with very attractive and efficient layouts.
The reporting engines even includes a print preview
feature, so you can view the reports on screen and only
print what you actually need. No sense wasting paper
when you just need to view the report.

Bar Code Scanning
|
|
|
Bar codes are a fast growing technology that
is revolutionizing point-of-sale and the way people
collect, store and retrieve data. Whether at the supermarket,
a loading dock or a hospital lab, bar codes are an integral
part of the data collection process. They are such a
reliable method for rapid entry of information that
much of our society now depends upon their use. Just
like the supermarket scans products at checkout you
could be using the technology to provide more accurate
information in your business.
Document files can have bar codes that are scanned
to track their location and movement. Business furniture
and capital assets can have bar codes attached for tracking
and inventory control.
There are so many great uses for bar code technology.
Any time you have people entering account codes, product
numbers, or other repetitive information think of how
much easier and more accurate it would be to just scan
the data. NIS can create software to specifically process
bar codes, print labels and utilize the scanned data.
Call our sales department to discuss ways that bar codes
can help your business.

Hardware Interfaces
|
|
|
Using modern PC-based technology NIS can create
software applications to operate many devices that are
not normally thought of as computer devices. The closed
caption software connects to a caption encoder and controls
the insertion of captions into a broadcast signal.
With a computer connection to a PLC (programmable
logic controller) databases can now track machinery
operation and the flow of materials in a factory.
NIS has access to a wide range of hardware and software
interfaces that can connect a computer to a variety
of devices. With the right mix of hardware and software
your PC can now be an intelligent machine controller
and provide more accurate information in real-time.
NIS is even factory trained by Allen-Bradley for
programming their PLCs.
