Networks are one of the most critical components of today's modern business. Many companies are unable to function without their computer network in operation. This is why we take networking very serious at NIS. Network is the first part of our company name!
When installing or upgrading a computer network, proper planning is very important. This must
always be the first step in the installation process. Our network integration consultants will review your business needs and design a network that is right for you now.
Plus we will plan for your ability to grow as your business grows. Future planning should always be part of the initial design. No sense in trashing next year what you install today. For this reason NIS uses upgradable components in most network intallations.
Constructing the network infrastructure is the next step with the installation of the network cable, jacks, and distribution panels. We will install the cabling into the walls and ceilings of your office to connect all the workstations, printers, scanners, servers, and any other devices that will connect to the network. Since labor is the most expensive component of this phase we normally install additional cable on all of the runs. Later if you need to add additional workstations or other network devices you will already have the cable in place. With many companies looking at IP telephone systems this will become a critical factor.
Once the cable infrastructure is in place, we connect the network devices. Network adapters will
be installed into any work stations or printers that do not already have an adapter or that have older adapters that may not be compatible. Hubs and routers are installed to connect the computer work stations, file servers, and printers together.
Now your network will be operational and ready for use!
We also protect your network security with firewalls and proxy servers for your internet link.
When we have completed the installation we will also provide you with documentation showing your
network configuration. These reports give you all the information required should a device need to be reconfigured. Also drawings of the cable runs are provided so that your staff will know where to alert construction crews before they cut into any cables.
