1994

FACNET VAN Development Commences

 

Network Information Services, Inc. (NIS) was formed to develop an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Value Added Network (VAN) as part of the United States Department of Defense FACNET procurement system. NIS created a completely secure and private electronic network that connected government vendors to the government's buying agencies. The time and cost of government procurement were greatly reduced using the NIS EDI network.

 

1995

DOD Certifies NIS VAN

 

Network Information Services EDI network was certified by the US Defense Dept. and began processing government procurement transactions.

 

1998

NIS Terminates US Govt EDI Contract

 

The U.S. Government was not able to fully implement the FACNET project and support the network as originally planned. As a result, Network Information Services terminated the government's contract for EDI network services.

 

1998

NIS Aquires Laguna Vista Systems

 

NIS acquired the accounts and technology of Laguna Vista Systems, a privately-held systems integration firm in Orange County, CA.

With the LVS LVS acquisition NIS was positioned to concentrate on development of custom and commercial software applications.

 

2000

Coastline Micro Servers and Workstations added to product line

 

Computers from Coastline Micro provide the highest quality available at competitive prices. No big name can match these systems value.

We now provide desktop workstations and network servers in tower and rack-mount configurations. Our own servers are Coastline 1U rack servers.

 

2003

NIS Relocates headquarters to Indianapolis

 

After nearly 10 years of providing high-tech software development services from its California base, NIS moves to Indiana to capitalize on the burgeoning Midwest market.

 

2003

NIS becomes Cenral Indiana Dealer for Artisoft TeleVantage

 

NIS is proud to announce the addition of the TeleVantage Software PBX to its line of products. TeleVantage brings all the features of a large-scale PBX to organizations of all sizes at a much more reasonable cost.

On-screen call control allows TeleVantage users to handle calls with ease. unlimited voice mail and auto attendants give sites the ability to buld in any functions needed.

Call centers can gain all the features needed with a system easier to manage than any other phone/ACD system.
